Because her educational journey began in 1969 with earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish, it is natural to assume that Gail Weingast didn’t always intend to have a career as a medical professional. In other words, it is not outrageous to assume that medicine wasn’t a calling she acknowledged from a very young age. As an example, consider that her extensive education began when she earned her Spanish degree fromTufts University’s Jackson College at in Medford, Massachusetts back in 1969. Regardless of her initial intentions, however, something changed soon after and within a short time, she was matriculating at the Boston University School of Medicine, where she earned her medical degree and officially became Dr. Gail Weingast, MD in 1976.
Following completion of medical school, Dr. Weingast completed a pediatrics internship from 1976-1977 and she completed a two-year residency in pediatrics, followed by a residency in the field of radiology from 1980 to 1983 and a fellowship in the field of ultrasound in 1983. She completed all of those educational programs at Colorado General Hospital in Denver by 1983, but Dr. Gail Weingast completed her post-graduate studies as a radiologist in 1984 at St. Anthony’s Hospital, also in Denver. She continues to learn everything she possibly can, to enhance her career.
