It was more than four decades ago that Dr. Gail Weingast moved into the medical field. With a Bachelor of Arts in hand from Tufts University, she attended Boston University’s School of Medicine. She graduated in 1976 and then began her path into professional medicine.
For the next several years, Dr. Gail Weingast grew immensely in her hands-on knowledge as well as her future expertise in the field. Across two hospitals in Denver, Colorado — Colorado General Hospital and St. Anthony’s Hospital — she honed her learned skills. At these respective locations, Dr. Gail Weingast completed a one-year internship in pediatrics, a four-year residency in radiology, a yearlong fellowship in ultrasound and two years of post-graduate studies. Although pediatrics held a significant interest, it was radiology that most sparked the desires of Dr. Gail Weingast as she moved into this expertise throughout her professional career.
Since completing her post-graduate work in 1984, Dr. Gail Weingast has served the radiology field across hospitals in Colorado, New York and Connecticut. At the latter, she has spent approximately 20 years, growing in the field to most recently become Chief of Breast Imaging for the Norwich-based William W. Backus Hospital.
